TRAINING ACTIVITIES
  1. To educate the Ganga Mitra about Ecological, Scientific, Socio-cultural, Economical and Religious significance of river Ganga and its associated water bodies (Tributaries, Ponds, Kunds, Wells, Canal etc.) for developing relationship of human being with Mother Ganga.
  2. To provide concept based environmental education to act as resource person for inculcating awareness and environmental rites among school children.
  3. To provide support for identification of the local resources and conduct capacity building program for community to use traditional skills for value addition, income generation and self employment.
  4. To suggest the methodologies for developing green belts of resilient and ecologically adaptable plant species on both banks of river which shall act as a kidney in filtering the pollutants and also check the soil erosion.
  5. To provide appropriate technologies for the Rainwater Harvesting and Ground Recharging to improve E-flow of the river Ganga.
  6. To educate about the appropriate technologies to reduce the water consumption, minimize the waste generation and recycling of wastewater.
  7. To educate about the traditional and advanced technologies for the treatment of drinking water, wastewater, solid & agro wastes.
  8. To suggest strategies for rejuvenation of Ganga and its associated water bodies based on environmental legislation.
  9. To provide sampling and analytical techniques for physico-chemical, biological and bacteriological properties of the Ganga and its associated water bodies.
  10. To suggest proper establishment of electric crematorium near respective cremation grounds, incineration plants for cattle and separate washing ghats downstream.
  11. To train the Ganga Mitra for preparation of audio visual ads for public awareness and promote Skill India, Digital India& Clean India etc. National programs.
  12. To educate for providing technical support to the people dependant on Ganga and its associated water bodies for their livelihood.
